Nina,15, is witness to a heinous event that puts her life in jeopardy. She can't trust anyone because she's an orphan. Witness protection officer Max, a former special-forces soldier, is responsible for Nina's safety when crooked tycoon Thomas Backer sends five killers after her. They quickly overcome their early differences and come to an understanding. While on the run from the merciless Backer, Rudi, a former comrade of Max's, comes to their aid-and continues to assist the two in a variety of dangerous scenarios. Even as a federal prosecutor, Sara, Max's ex-girlfriend, isn't only there to assist him. Nonetheless, Nina and Max are more in danger, and the girl will soon discover that she isn't the only one who needs a guardian angel–Max may benefit from one as well.
