The Homesman

The religious, self-reliant Mary Bee Cuddy is called upon to save three women who are driven insane by the tough pioneer life. She decides to take the women to Iowa via covered wagon, and hires a vagrant named George Briggs to help her. In the east, a clergyman and his wife have offered to take in the three women. They must first cross the Nebraska Territories, a land of stark beauty, psychological hazard and continual menace.
