Augusta, a Southerner, meets two renegade, drunken soldiers on a mission of pillage and violence in this radically remade American Western set toward the end of the Civil War. Augusta sprints back to the lonely farmhouse she shares with her sister Louise and their female slave Mad after fleeing an attempted assassination. When the couple of soldiers track Augusta down with the intention of extracting retribution, the trio of women are forced to pick up guns in order to fend off their attackers, devising inventive ways to defend their home––and themselves––as the attacks become more unpredictable and vicious.
