The Laramie Project

"The Laramie Project" is set in and around Laramie, Wyoming, after 21-year-old Matthew Shepard was killed there. To make the stage version of "The Laramie Project," an eight-person group from New York called the Tectonic Theatre Project went to Laramie, Wyoming, for two years to record hours of interviews with the town's residents. The movie version dramatizes the troupe's visit, using the words from the transcripts to show a town that has to face itself.
