Jonas, a 40-something Parisian, is still madly in love with his ex-girlfriend Léa. He ends up at the café downstairs after knocking on her door to declare his feelings and being turned down. When inspiration hits, he sits down to write her a long love letter, ignoring everything else he had planned to do that day. What begins as a desperate attempt to reclaim her turns into a passionate meditation on the status of his life. Over the course of a day, with the assistance of a wisecracking bartender and a variety of neighborhood patrons, Jonas must confront his previous relationships, his uncertain future, and, most importantly, himself.
