When 14-year-old Marco, a homeless Romani boy, is jailed at the Danish border for belongings of a missing public servant's passport, cops examiner Carl Mørck and his Department Q team are tasked with locating the link. The old situation has numerous dubious aspects: The general public servant was charged of pedophilia soon prior to he vanished, and his case was shut abnormally rapidly. However the quiet, traumatized Marco refuses to speak to them as well as it's shortly before he gets on the run from those that intend to eliminate him as a result of what he knows.
