Spunky Pippi Longstocking, her horse Alfonso, and her pet monkey Mr. Neilson are left behind when her father's ship is swept away by a sudden storm. They take up residence in the old family home, which is thought to be haunted by the other kids in the neighborhood. Soon, two kids, Tommy and his sister Anika, come into the house. Pippi is there, and the two of them play together. As time goes on, the three become close friends and go on many adventures together. They clean the floor with scrubbing shoes, avoid the "splunks," and go down a waterfall in barrels. In this movie, kids who are older are likely to enjoy it more than younger kids.
