The Nun

Suzanne Simonin writes about her painful life. She is forced into a convent as a young woman. Due to a lack of funds, her parents decide she must marry rather than become a nun. In spite of a loving and patient Mother Superior who helps her adjust to the convent life, Suzanne's desire for independence persists. After the death of the Mother Superior, Suzanne faces reprisals, humiliation, and harassment from the new Abbess and the other Sisters.
