The Olive Tree

Her family has been producing high-quality olive oil in the Baix Maestrat district of Spain's Castellón for generations. As a result of industry demands, the family has shifted its focus to mass-producing poultry, notwithstanding its traditional methods. Alma's granddad hasn't spoken in a while. A pall of melancholy falls over him, and he finds it difficult to eat. Even though Alma's father and uncle—his sons—are frustrated with him, she understands. That old olive tree had been uprooted and sold to pay off some obligations, and he has been mourning it ever since. (Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence in Castellón at the moment.) In order to ensure that her grandfather's remaining days are spent in peace, Alma embarks on a seemingly impossible quest to track down the tree and bring it back to their orchard.
