The Palm Beach Story

Gerry and Tom Jeffers are having a difficult time adjusting to married life. Tom works as an inventor/architect, and the couple has very little money to live on at the moment. The couple is about to be evicted from their flat when Gerry happens to meet a wealthy businessman who is being shown around as a possible renter. Gerry is given $700 to begin a new life, but Tom does not trust her narrative, and the two become embroiled in a conflict. In the end, Gerry determines that the marriage is done and departs for Palm Beach in order to obtain a speedy divorce; but, Tom has other plans for her.
