In March1963, a coven of dark witches celebrated a black service at a ruined church in Clophill, Bedfordshire, in which they sacrificed to the devil. During a gruesome ceremony, tombs were ransacked, animals were sacrificed, and human bones were piled in a mausoleum. Further defilements occurred at Clophill during the following years, with calves in adjacent fields discovered mutilated, signs of necromancy discovered, and constant sightings of paranormal activity at the lonely ruin reported. Despite the passage of 50 years since the original incident, the Clophill mythology continues to etch itself into the collective consciousness of the local population and visitors. In2010, a documentary team was created to look into the legend of the Clophill witches and to try to uncover the truth behind the paranormal incidents that had occurred in and around the town.
