Filmmaker Luis Buuel's life is depicted in a series of short clips in this surrealist Spanish film, which has been given the title of "The Communist Manifesto." From the 19th century through the 1970s these loosely connected and intersecting occurrences are presented as if they were random meetings. The film has a diverse cast, including a sick father and incompetent police officers, and briefly touches on topics such as execution, pedophilia, incest, and sex.
