The Public Enemy

Tom Powers and Matt Doyle, two young Chicago hoodlums, climb from poverty to become petty thieves, bootleggers, and cold-blooded killers. However, the trio faces cops and other gangsters alike as a result of their sudden cash and street renown. Despite his brutal criminal image, Tom tries to stay in touch with his family, but gang violence and the need for vengeance eventually drag him away.
