Recy Taylor, a 24-year-old black mom and sharecropper, was gang raped by 6 white young boys in 1944 Alabama. Usual in Jim Crow South, few ladies spoke up in concern for their lives. Not Recy Taylor, that fearlessly identified her rapists. The NAACP sent its chief rape detective Rosa Parks, who rallied assistance and set off an unmatched outcry for justice. The film subjects a legacy of physical abuse of black ladies and reveals Rosa Parks' intimate role in Recy Taylor's tale.
