After the tragic loss of her family, Katherine Morrissey, a former Christian missionary, abandoned her religion. She is now using her knowledge to disprove religious claims. Katherine arrives to prove that a supernatural force is not behind a series of biblical plagues that have swept a tiny village, but she soon discovers that science cannot explain what is happening. Instead, she must reclaim her faith in order to fight the evil lurking in a Louisiana swamp.
