In the wake of a players' strike, the Washington Sentinels decided to bring back old-school maverick coach Jimmy McGinty in the hopes of improving their chances of making the playoffs. But the realization of this unachievable goal is contingent on his replacements being able to bunker down and complete their tasks. Therefore, McGinty pulls out his secret file of former players who were never given a chance (or messed up the one they were given) and puts together a bad-dream team of players that just might give the Sentinels a chance to win the championship.
