Tired of New York's clamor and the oppressive norms of late Eisenhower's America, itinerant journalist Paul Kemp moves to Puerto Rico to write for a little San Juan newspaper edited by the afflicted Lotterman. Paul soon becomes engaged with a highly attractive American woman and her fiancé, a tycoon involved in shady property development dealings.
