They can't be apart. Whenever Tantri and Tantra steal eggs from the family sacrifice, Tantri always gets the whites and Tantra the yolks. One day, however, Tantra and the yolk are gone. Tantri's brother is seriously ill and in the hospital, so she starts to slip into magical worlds. She approaches the inevitable farewell through costumes, body paint, and dance. The moment Tantri's mother washes the paint off of her face, it is as if she is tenderly letting go of a thought that things can stay the same. One 10-year-old girl's story is told in long dream sequences, against the backdrop of Balinese philosophy about sekala, which is what can be seen, and niskala, which can't be seen.
