The Song of Bernadette

Bernadette, an adolescent peasant girl, sees a "beautiful lady" in the city waste in France in 1858. Everyone in town assumes it's the Virgin Mary, even though she never says it is. Officials think she's crazy, and they try their best to keep her and her followers under control; the church is completely uninterested.
