Pat Brennan takes a ride with newlyweds Willard and Doretta Mims after losing his horse in a bet. The coach and its passengers are captured by a gang of criminals led by Usher at the next station. Usher decides to keep Doretta for ransom after learning she is the daughter of a wealthy copper mine owner. Over the next 24 hours, tension rises as Usher waits for an answer to his demands while Brennan and Doretta develop a romantic relationship.
