In their home in the Australian countryside, the O'Neills lived contentedly. Until one fateful day, when Peter, the father, was snuffed out by chance, leaving Dawn, his bereaved wife, to raise their four children alone. Simone, age 8, is among many who deny this truth. She is certain that her father still resides in the enormous fig tree near their home and communicates with her through its leaves. However, the tree is becoming increasingly invasive and a menace to the house. It needs to be toppled. Naturally, Simone will not allow it.
