Packard Walsh and his motorcycle gang rule and torment a desert town in Arizona, forcing drivers to drag race in order to 'win' their cars. After Walsh kills Jamie Hankins, a respectable adolescent who was found with his girlfriend, a strange power develops Jake Kesey, an extraordinarily cool motorcyclist with an invincible automobile.
