Reina and Cory, who were once best friends in college, have been estranged following a terrible tragedy that has touched both of them deeply. Reina's childhood home is taken by Cory as a last-ditch effort to rekindle their relationship. Although they are met with apprehension in the backcountry by two locals, they arrive safely at the abandoned, lovely mansion and begin to settle there. Unwinding by a roaring fire, they discover a new rhythm that brings them closer together. While they had no idea who Zeke was, they had no idea that he was their son until they had a knock at their door. A strange, restless night ensues when Reina and Zeke agree to house him until the morning, as their increasing affection for one another puts the relationship between the two to the test.
