Tropic Thunder, the memoir written by Vietnam veteran 'Four Leaf' Tayback, is being adapted into a movie, but director Damien Cockburn is having trouble keeping the film's ensemble of prima donnas under control. Cockburn is given an order by a studio executive to bring the production back on track or risk having it canceled since it is running over schedule and over budget. Cockburn follows Tayback's recommendation and places the actors in the midst of the jungle so that the remaining scenes can be filmed. However, both the actors and the production crew are unaware that they have been placed in the midst of the Golden Triangle, which is the home of gangs that produce heroin.
