Gaston Monescu, a thief, and Lily, a pickpocket, are partners in crime and love. Working for Mariette Colet, the executive of a perfume company, the two thieves decide to combine their criminal abilities in order to plunder their boss. Gaston utilizes his position as Mariette's personal secretary to gain her trust under the pseudonym of Monsieur Laval. He, however, goes too far when he falls in love with Mariette and is forced to choose between her and Lily.
