In the year1999, teenage sisters Celeste and Eleanor endure a horrible and earth-shattering disaster. By writing and performing a song about their ordeal, the sisters create something beautiful and therapeutic out of a traumatic event, while simultaneously propelling Celeste to the forefront of the entertainment industry. In2017, Celeste is a mother to a teenage daughter of her own and is striving to navigate a career riddled with controversies when another act of horrifying violence demands her attention.
