Waterloo Bridge
On the eve of World War II, a British officer returns to Waterloo Bridge and recalls the young man he was at the outbreak of the war and the young ballerina he met shortly before leaving for the front. Myra gets expelled from the corps de ballet after staying with him past curfew. She survives on the streets of London, sinking even farther into despair when she learns of her true love's death in action. However, he was not murdered. Myra's hope once Roy discovers her and takes her to his family's country estate is that those dreadful years were really a bad dream.
