Stewart Paylor is supposed to be delivering chapters of his new book after his first book was a big hit. Stewart has writer's block and hasn't written a single word. Cynthia, his literary agent and girlfriend, doesn't know about it. On his way home from vacation, he finds Cassandra (a homeless mother), Jake (a 12-year-old), and 9-year-old Vera living in his house. They have nowhere else to go and Cassandra doesn't know how to get there.
