Where the Heart Is
Novalee Nation, a 17-year-old Tennessee transient, is forced to grow up quickly after being left pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend on a roadside in Sequoyah, Okla., and seeking refuge in the friendly aisles of Wal-Mart. In no time, some eccentric, benevolent strangers "adopt" Novalee and her infant daughter, assisting them in defying the odds and starting a new life.
