800 Words
A parent who was recently bereaved decides to abandon his job as a popular 800 word columnist for a Sydney daily that sells a lot of copies. He acts on a spur-of-the-moment inclination to purchase a home in a sleepy coastal community in New Zealand and does so via the internet. The next step is for him to tell the news to his two teenage children, who have just experienced the loss of their mother and now face an even more uncertain future. His desire for a new beginning, however, is thwarted by the curious and colorful citizens that live in the area.
