A Different World

A Different World is a six-season American television sitcom that aired on NBC. It's a spin-off of The Cosby Show about Denise Huxtable and students at Hillman College, a fictional mixed but historically black college in Virginia. After Bonet left in the first season, the series focused on Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne. Members of the big historically black fraternities and sororities were regularly shown in the series. A Different World, a spin-off of The Cosby Show, addressed subjects that show writers avoided. One of the earliest American network television episodes to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic was one that aired in 1990.
