Jimmy McGovern is the mind behind the anthology series Accused, which airs on British television. The drama series debuted on BBC One on November15,2010, and has since been continued for a total of two series. Every episode focuses on a different character as they wait for their judgement in court and reveals the circumstances that led to them being implicated in the first place. This drama series is a continuation of previous drama series created by McGovern, such as the anthology series The Street and Moving On. Following Granada Television's decision in 2009 to discontinue production of The Street, McGovern established RSJ Films with the intention of producing independent drama programs. As a result, he came up with the idea for the Accused anthology series. Manchester serves as the location for the filming of Accused, which was written by McGovern, Danny Brocklehurst, and Alice Nutter.
