Aladdin

Aladdin is an animated television series produced by Walt Disney Television that aired from 1994 to 1995 and is based on the 1992 film of the same name. Slightly Offbeat Productions Studios in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand, animated it. The series followed up where the direct-to-video sequel The Return of Jafar left off, with Aladdin now living in the palace and engaged to the beautiful and spirited Princess Jasmine. "Al" and Jasmine ventured into danger alongside sorcerers, monsters, robbers, and others. Abu, the animated Magic Carpet, and the quick-witted, shape-shifting Genie all pitched in, as did sarcastic, complaining parrot Iago, originally Jafar's pet but now an antihero. Jafar, who was destroyed in the second film, reappears in only one episode, which also serves as a crossover with Hercules: The Animated Series. With the noteworthy exception of Dan Castellaneta sitting in for Robin Williams in the Genie role, several of the film's performers performed the voices of their TV equivalents. This series, unlike The Little Mermaid spinoff series, does not include any musical sequences. The sitcom originally aired on the syndicated The Disney Afternoon block and on CBS on Saturday mornings. The sitcom was rerun on Disney Channel in the late 1990s until it was replaced by their pre-teen lineup. The show was later broadcast on Toon Disney, however it has since been discontinued.
