The American animated kids' show Archie's Weird Mysteries is based on the Archie comics. The premise of the show is that a physics experiment at Riverdale High School goes wrong, making the town of Riverdale a "magnet" for B-movie monsters. The show is shown on commercial stations in the United States because it meets the FCC's guidelines for educational and informative children's programming. The show was made by DIC Entertainment and was first shown on the PAX network in the mornings, often with infomercials on either end. The next season, its repeats were sent to TV stations all over the US as a way to meet mandatory E/I regulations.
