Barrier Master
Yellow Tanabe wrote and drew the supernatural manga series Kekkaishi. From 2003 until2011, it was serialized in Japan by Shogakukan in the manga magazine Shnen Sunday, and Viz Media was licensed to release it in North America in English. Sunrise adapted it into a fifty-two episode anime series that aired between October 2006 and February 2008. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs to opposing lines of kekkai users, must defend their school from the ghosts attracted to the hallowed soil upon which it is constructed. The 2007 Shogakukan Manga Award for shnen manga was presented to Kekkaishi.
