The Canadian television series BeastMaster ran from 1999 to 2002. It was loosely inspired by the MGM picture The Beastmaster from 1982. There were three complete seasons of the show. The production company is Coote/Hayes. In 2000, the Australian Film Institute nominated the series for the Open Craft Award in the category of cinematography, and in 2001, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films in the United States nominated the series for the Saturn Award for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series. BeastMaster airs in syndication on Sci-Fi Channel in the United States, but not during prime time.
