Shimura Teppei (Fujigaya Taisuke) grew up watching his policeman father ride side-by-side in marathons and wanted to be a runner himself. His father lost his job and vanished. Teppei wrecked himself as a local delinquent. Influenced by his boyhood friend Yuichi, Teppei became a policeman after high school. He suddenly passed the police academy test.
