A fictionalized account of the cricket match series between England and Australia that took place in 1932 and 1933. The series was played in Australia and became famous in Australian and international cricketing history due to the fact that the English team, led by captain Douglas Jardine, used a bowling technique known as "leg theory" or, more commonly, Bodyline. The technique was utilized by the English bowling attack. Bowlers used this strategy, which comprised delivering the ball directly at the body of the batter. As a result, many members of the Australian side received numerous bruises and injuries, and batsman Bert Oldfield suffered a shattered skull. As a result of the series, there was a great deal of animosity and hostility directed against the English team in Australia, which severely affected Anglo-Australian cricketing ties at the time.
