Claymore is a manga by Norihiro Yagi. The series premiered in May 2001's Monthly Shnen Jump. After the magazine was terminated in June2007, the series moved to Weekly Shnen Jump. In November2007, the series relocated to Jump Square. Shueisha has issued 23 tankbon volumes as of December 2012. The first 11 volumes were converted into a 26-episode animation by Madhouse. Hiroyuki Tanaka's series debuted on NTV on April3, 2007 and aired through September25, 2007. A soundtrack CD and a CD of character songs with anime voice actresses were published on July 25 and September27,2007, respectively. Viz Media has licensed The Claymore manga for North American distribution. The first volume was issued on April4,2006, and 21 volumes as of November6, 2012. The anime adaptation is licensed in North America by Funimation Entertainment, who released the first DVD in Fall 2008 and the entire series on Blu-ray in Spring 2010. Madman Entertainment licensed the anime for release in Australia and New Zealand. Manga Entertainment sublicensed it for UK distribution.
