Ten years ago, an unexplained spatial anomaly that is now referred to as "Heaven's Gate" arose in South America. This was immediately followed by the opening of "Hell's Gate," which caused the sky to change and wreaked devastation on the terrain. False stars appeared in their place, taking the place of the genuine sky objects. During this time period, individuals who possessed a wide range of unique abilities, sometimes known as "Contractors," began to appear. These individuals were each capable of doing a unique set of extraordinary tasks. Following the devastating conclusion of the Heaven's War, the United States of America were overtaken as the preeminent superpower by a shadowy group known as the Syndicate. The protagonist, a Chinese contractor with the alias "Hei," travels to Tokyo in order to carry out a number of different espionage and assassination tasks.
