Davy Crockett

Five episodes of the Davy Crockett serial, which broadcast on ABC as part of the Disneyland series for an hour each, were produced. Davy Crockett and his friend George Russell are portrayed in the series by Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen, respectively. Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier was aired in color in the 1960s when the Disney program moved to NBC, and the first three episodes were put together as the 1955 theatrical film. "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" is the recognizable theme music for this series and picture. At the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's Mountain Farm Museum, located next to the visitor center at Oconaluftee, near the entrance to Qualla Reservation and Janss Conejo Ranch, California, the video was shot in color in the park. Davy Crockett and the River Pirates was released theatrically in 1956 after the final two episodes were combined together. In Cave-In-Rock, Illinois, they shot the movie.
