The first episode of the 2004 animated series Dragon Booster aired on TVO. Artha Penn, a young stable boy who rides the legendary dragon Beaucephalis, is the protagonist of the tale. Humans and dragons alike look to him as their champion and protector, as he transforms into an immortal hero known as the Dragon Booster. It's no coincidence that so many of the characters are named after people from the Arthurian legends. Arthur Pendragon's name is a pun on the phrase "Artha Penn." Lance Penn is for Lancelot, while Moordryd is for Mordred Le Fey. Each episode of this show has cel shaded computer generated imagery (CGI). Due to the series' discontinuation, no new episodes have been produced, and many fans have started petitions in the hopes of seeing Dragon Booster Academy continue in its second form.
