Extra began in syndication on September5, 1994 as an American entertainment news show covering events and celebrities. Telepictures Productions worked with Warner Bros. Television Distribution on the original production at Victory Studios in Glendale, California. Time-Telepictures Television, a joint venture between Time Magazine and Telepictures, distributed it from 1995 to 2003. As a spinoff, Extra ran three seasons of Celebrity Justice from 2002–2005. Two Warner Bros. Television programmes, Extra and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, are being syndicated to NBCUniversal stations. Excess and TMZ are the other two WBTV entertainment shows.
