The "Gate," a portal to a parallel realm, arose unexpectedly in Ginza, Tokyo, in August 20XX. Monsters and troops flooded out of the vortex, transforming the shopping district into a bloodbath. The Japan Ground-Self Defense Force repelled the fantasy monsters and drove them back to the "Gate." The JGSDF despatched the Third Reconnaissance Team to the "Special Region" on the other side of the Gate to smooth negotiations and prepare for future confrontations. Youji Itami, a JSDF officer and 33-year-old otaku, was named Team Leader. Despite hostile troop strikes, the team toured a number of locations and learned a great deal about the local culture and landscape. They were eventually able to reach out to the community thanks to their efforts in humanitarian help, despite some hurdles. They'd made new acquaintances with a cute elf, a sorceress, and a demigoddess. The great countries outside the Gate, on the other hand, such as the United States, China, and Russia, were extremely interested in the enormous resources accessible in the Special Region. They started to apply diplomatic pressure on Japan. A suddenly appearing portal to an unknown world—to the great countries, it may be nothing more than a tool for destabilizing the international order. However, for our protagonists, it is a priceless opportunity to widen their education, friendship, and, ultimately, their worldview.
