Hamatora (Japanese for "Yokohama Tiger") is a mixed-media project. The project began with a manga series written by Yukino Kitajima and character design by Yki Kodama, with Y Wazu converting the design to artwork. In November 2013, Shueisha's Young Jump magazine began serializing Hamatora: The Comic. Hamatora: The Animation, an anime television series produced by NAZ, debuted on TV Tokyo on January 7, 2014, and aired for twelve episodes until March 25, 2014. It was followed by Lerche's second series, Re:_ Hamatora, which premiered in July 2014. In addition, FuRyu released a role-playing game titled Hamatora: Look at Smoking World in July 2014. A light novel and a stage drama are also related titles. The series takes place in 2014, when certain people known as Minimum Holders are revealed to have extraordinary abilities. The plot revolves with Minimum Holder Nice, who establishes a detective firm named "Hamatora" in Yokohama and begins assembling a vast number of allies, including his colleague Murasaki and assistant Hajime, as well as rivals, including various crooks. Among those who appear in the anime are Ryta saka, Wataru Hatano, Emiri Kat, Kiyono Yasuno, Jun Fukuyama, and Yuichi Nakamura. Manga and anime magazines have given the series mixed reviews. While the mystery components have been highly appreciated, the topics and animation have earned criticism. Its location and characters have also drawn comparisons to the X-Men.
