Orphaned Lyra lives in a world that is a combination of science, theology, and magic. She is fascinated by all three of these subjects. During her search for a friend who had been abducted, Lyra uncovered a dark conspiracy that involved the kidnapping of children, which led her on a path to investigate a mysterious phenomena known as Dust. Will, a little kid who owns a knife that has the ability to cut windows into other universes, eventually joins her on her trip.
