Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth

Sam Maekjong is the son of the fallen king and current queen regent, Jiso, and has been kept in seclusion since he was a small child, when his father was murdered. Over time, powerful nobles have attempted and failed to steal power from Jiso, making her apprehensive of handing over the throne. When her son reaches adulthood, she forms the Hwarang, an elite club of male adolescents who train in combat and education. Their existence cuts beyond current power divisions, and Sam Maekjong is among them, undetected by other Hwarang members, under the alias Kim Ji-Dwi.
