The story is set in Nagasaki, where a small remnant of magic lingers. Hitomi Tsukishiro, 17, is a witch's descendent who lost her sense of color at a young age. Kohaku, a famous witch, sends Hitomi to 2018 to see her granddaughter's future. Through discussions with her 17-year-old grandmother and club members, the novel traces Hitomi's maturation.
