Jann Arden plays a fictionalized and self-deprecating version of herself in the film Jann. Her character is a singer and composer of a "certain age" who is in severe denial of the hard fact that her former music career is gradually (okay, swiftly) slipping away. Jann's career may be in jeopardy, but that's not the only thing that's in jeopardy in her life right now; she just got divorced (don't remind her), her sister may reject her, and her mother may be exhibiting the early stages of memory loss. Jann's personal life is a mess, and she is sure that the solution to all of her problems is to hire a new manager who can assist her in rebranding her image. She embarks on a mission to return to greatness and go viral, but instead she gets wrapped up in the pressures of her "real" life, which makes for lots of LOL moments throughout the story. Jann is at a crossroads in her life between the person she used to be and the person she wants to become. Is it possible for Jann to make a comeback, regain her renown, and continue to support the people who care about her?
