Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge is a 1995 BBC television series consisting of six episodes and a holiday special. It is called after the ABBA song "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which was utilized as the title music for the show. Alan Partridge, based in Norwich, was portrayed by Steve Coogan as an incompetent, self-satisfied host. Alan was a spinoff from the parody radio program On the Hour. Knowing Me Knowing You was written by Coogan, Armando Iannucci, and Patrick Marber, with additions from Alan's regular weekly guests Doon Mackichan, Rebecca Front, and David Schneider. The show's music and orchestration were provided by Steve Brown, who also appeared as Glen Ponder, the guy in command of the house band. The program satirized chat shows. The laughing of the live audience prevented viewers from mistaking the program for a genuine conversation show.
